New Super Identity – The New Era of Creative Branding

Friday, November 28th, 2014

Now available on our online shop: http://bit.ly/1zPAFME

There is no room for complacency in branding today. Consumer attitudes and preferences are changing faster than ever, as much of what we filter is downloaded through mobile technology or social media. The days of purely subliminal capture of a brand’s identity may be numbered as end users shift their allegiances, gathering information in new and innovative ways.

New Super Identity examines brands and their designers that are at the forefront of the new paradigm and reactive to local and cultural needs, as they experiment with new memes and challenge their competitors to do likewise. Covering traditional vehicles for identity such as Illustration, logo, packaging, product, promotional and retail design, as well as the nature of branding on mobile platforms, this title is a comprehensive resource.
Over 70 brand stories are featured, including Adidas, Beams, Diesel, Kiehls, Levi’s, Miu Miu, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent.

Jamie xx – Sleep Sound

Click the pic to watch the video!

Amazing track and music video!

“With a double A-side 12” “Girl”/”Sleep Sound” in the making, Jamie xx unveils the visual translation for his new single “Sleep Sound.” Helmed by London-based artist and poet Sofia Mattioli, the clip depicts listening experiences of members of the Manchester Deaf Centre, of ages five to 27. According to Mattioli, the key component of the video is the “relationship between silence and music:”

“I was on a train listening to music, getting deep into it, and this girl started staring at me. After a while I took my headphones off and she came up to me, started signing and then wrote me a note to say that she was deaf but could almost feel the music by my movement. The relationship between silence and music is a big part of what I am trying to express with my work, says Mattioli. The first kid in the video, Archie, was bliss—all of them were amazing. I hope this is a project I can develop further.”

“Girl”/”Sleep Sound” is out May 5 via Young Turks.”

Becker Schmitz (Artist Short / Docu)

Tuesday, January 21st, 2014

As promised, a short / docu about the artist Becker Schmitz.

Becker Schmitz, born 1980 in Moers, Germany, was accompanied by a camera for the time span of a year. The idea behind this was to get a different view on the artist’s work. The film observantly documents the work of Becker Schmitz outside of the studio and shows that creating art not only is based on bringing paint onto canvas.

On the level of sound we can hear excerpts from a conversation with Becker Schmitz. Thoughts, ideas and observations from the view of the artist himself.
