A OH MY Film

For our newest artistic collaboration we got together with Dortmund based studio YAWN – which means YEAH AWESOME WOW NICE. The studio was founded in 2010 by the two designers Sandra Greiling & Annika Janssen. The result is a black & white, vegan version of our Easy Run and a 6 Panel Snapback Cap, a 5 Panel Flatcap and a Curved Visor Cap. The material mix for the Easy Run is a combination of casual and performance material, PU taping, polyester mesh and printed polyester lining on the inside.

Words from the artists:

“Over the last years we mainly focused on music artwork, poster design, merchandise and logo design. We are not really after a specific style, but one of our characteristic features of
our work is pretty much always the mix of analog and digital parts. Handmade type as well as patterns and textures are our passion. Therefore typography and illustration build a
substantial field of our creations. The same goes for experiments with analog tools and the resulting coincidences. Hereby everything doesn’t need to be clean because we especially like the imperfect, analog look.

Regarding our collab with DJINNS, we created different black & white brushstroke patterns and a corporate logo. Being big sneakerheads ourselves, it was our concern to design the sneakers the way, we like to have them on our feet the best way we can imagine, simple and cool. Real easy without any knick-knack and at the same time distinct.” – YAWN

Of course we would like to celebrate the release with all of you. The official release party will be held at Oma Doris in Dortmund on August 27th 2016 together with the BAUNZ guys. There will be free shots & candies, too (while supplies last) 😉 The collab itself will be available online and at selected retailers early September. DJINNS X LODOWN MAGAZINE ‘BandanaRAMA’

Monday, August 1st, 2016

lodownmagazine.com/pulse/bandanarama

Text via Lodown Magazine:

Originally from India, the bandana is usually worn on the head or around the neck and is not considered to be a hat. Yes, we all know, that hip hop related fashion established grey zones between front-tied bandanas, extravagant hairdos and other things you can wear on your head..

Since the early seventies the gang-related rivalry between the Crips & Bloods made the color choice a little harder depending on the area you’d bust your steez. Tupac’s bandana tied into rabbit ears remains probably one of hip-hop’s most recognizable styles. The paisley pattern dominates the design of the bandana, but alongside the celebrations of Lodown’s 100th issue, a rare barb wire design by Marok can be spotted. We partnered up with Djinns for the bigger version for more wearing options and to practically use it as scarf on the bike.

This Bandana is exclusively available with every order at the Lodown Shop.
